Tatiana carrier here with an update from everyones favorite wizard, harry potter! . As you guys know, Daniel Radcliffe is famed for playing Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the final installment in the decade-spanning franchise that has collectively grossed over $7.7 billion at box offices around the world and single-handedly revived the faltering British film industry. . The 22-year-old — who is currently starring in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying — spoke candidly with our friends at the Hollywood reporter about all things potter…the good, the bad, and the ugly! . When asked about how he felt about everything now being over, Radcliffe said, “my memories of it are incredibly nostalgic, and romantic, and, I think, how everybody views their teenage years, you know: with complete idealism, having forgotten that there was ever any, you know, hormonal rage or any of that kind of stuff. You know, I had a moment the other day of actually really missing it for the first time since, of going, “God, I miss those people!” . He then spoke about it all began…very quickly. He remembers literally turning into an over night celebrity! When asked how he dealt with the sudden fame, he said, “There are, obviously, upsides to it, but I’d say that the upsides, for me, are the upsides that come from my job rather than from the celebrity aspect. I mean, celebrity is horrible — that’s the truth, is that it’s a ghastly, vile thing.” He then went on to share a story about how a prestigious magazine asked him about a very serious topic that he felt he had no place commenting on…and the fact that the magazine thought it was acceptable to take advice from a non-qualified person just because they were a celebrity, disgusted him. . Finally he was asked about, in the big picture, all the things he was forced to give up, namely privacy…was it all worth it in the end? His answer…YES. ABSOLUTALY. He explained that while losing privacy during his teenage years was tough, he wouldn’t trade the experience and training he had from the Harry potter series! . So Ive got to ask…if you were in Daniel’s shoes at the young age when he was discovered…would you trade all of your everyday freedoms for the majority of your young life to be a part of an iconic franchise like the harry potter series?
