Welcome to Clevver Movies. I’m Chelsea Cannell with the latest movie news. Nicolas Cage appeared on the LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON this week and broke the news that he would be returning to star in the upcoming “Ghost Rider” sequel. The actor who was a guest on the late night show, revealed enthusiastically that he had just “made the deal” that day! But that wasn’t all… Cage also confirmed that the “Crank” guys, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, would also be on set for the second go round, calling shots from the directors chair! Also Reveled, Cage’s character Johnny Blaze will definitely be returning, however it is unknown at this moment if other characters from the first installment will also be getting the callback. And while the plot still remains a mystery, we do know that Columbia Pictures has decided to move forward with the sequel. As of now the film is going by the tentative title “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.” So what are your thoughts on the Ghost Rider Sequel…? Would you have preferred a reboot to a second installment? Director Michael Bay has recently admitted that the last installment of the transformers Franchise, May have deserved some of the negative feedback it Received. But rather then dwell on it, he’s ready to move on, and with the 3rd Transformers film already in production, move on, he already has! Bay revealed in an interview with USA Today that the new film will definitely have two things that should make fans pretty happy. First and least surprising, the film is being shot in 3d, despite the fact that bay had hinted in the past that it probably wouldn’t be. And second, the director confirmed that fan-favorite “Shockwave” will be a featured villain! An admirable and powerful leader in waiting who has the ability to transform into a lasergun, Shockwave was previously left in charge of the home planet Cybertron as the autobots did battle against the decpeticons on earth. An awesome edition, and one we hope will see more screen time then Soundwave did in Revenge of the Fallen! The yet-to-be-titled third “Transformers” movie is due in theaters July 1, 2011.
