It looks like New line has officially dropped the reboot Escape from New york, and we have the details…New line and Warner Brothers have allowed the option to drop on the remake they have been developing, meaning now, the reboot is up for grabs! New Line and producer Neal Moritz have been working on the reboot, most recently with The Crazies helmer Breck Eisner attached to direct, and a script by writers that include Allan Loeb and X-Men: First Class scribe Jamie Moss AS far as who was to star, there were rumors that Gerard Butler and Jeremy Renner were being discussed, but again, those were just rumors and there were never any confirmations. Now with the most recent news of New Line and Warner bros declined to make the flick, it looks like there’s a high possibility the movie won’t get made at all. The original from 1981 was directed by John Carpenter and starred Kurt Russel as Snake. Russell also starred in the sequel ‘Escape From L.A.’ in 1996. Would you watch the reboot if it were ever made?
