Recent reports have Kevin Bacon starring as a villain in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. But is the Footloose star really in talks with Fox to join the cast? The negotiations haven’t been confirmed, but that hasn’t stopped Hollywood from thinking about what might be with six degrees of Kevin Bacon in the X-Men prequel-reboot. No word yet on which villain is even being considered, but fans have named Mr. Sinister, Cameron Hodge and Sebastian Shaw as the potential villainous role. So what do you think? I’m Amanda Janner with your X-Men update. Michael Fassbender is fast becoming a hot commodity in Hollywood, and the actor was recently tapped to play Magneto in the latest X-Men movie. Twentieth Century Fox is currently in negotiations with Fassbender for the role of Erik Lensherr, the man who becomes Magneto in the early X-Men story X-Men: First Class. The word around town is Columbia Pictures has also been pursuing the actor to star as the villain in the reboot of Spider Man. You can currently catch Fassbender playing another comic book villain in Jonah Hex. Freida Pinto and Don Cheadle Go Ape! All the details coming up next! Welcome back to Clevver Movies, I’m Chelsea Cannell! James Franco has already been cast by 20th century fox as the Lead in the upcoming prequel to Planet of the Apes, “Rise of the Apes.” And now the latest casting rumors have “Iron Man 2″ star Don Cheadle and “Slumdog Millionaire’s” leading lady Freida Pinto being offered roles in fox’s Ape prequel. As of now, however, it’s still unconfirmed if these two will or will not be joining the cast, but either way though, it’s still Pretty exciting news for what could be shaping up to be a star studded cast. The Rise of the Apes prequel tells the story of a modern day scientist who conducts genetic experiments on a chimp named Caesar in hopes of developing a cure for Alzheimers. As Caesar becomes more intelligent, the ape goes on to lead a rebellion against his captors, which eventually results in ape domination! The film will shoot in Vancouver with Rupert Wyatt Directing and is scheduled for release on June 24, 2011.
