http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! A short film about the Mortal Kombat game hits the net. We’ll give you all the gory details in just a moment. Hi everyone, I’m Amanda Janner, and you’re watching Clevver Movies. It’s called Mortal Kombat Rebirth and when it made its debut on the web, it had everyone guessing. Was it a trailer for a new game or a clip from an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie? Surprisingly, the gruesome short was directed by Kevin Tancharoen, who also directed “Fame.” The eight-minute short is a test film and Tancharoen’s audition piece for a full-length feature. Most of us didn’t expect this type of film to come from the director of the 2009 remake of the 1980s hit musical, but it definitely shows his versatility, and Mortal Kombat fans are singing his praise. Tanchoroen shot the film in only two days with a budget of $7,500 dollars. Warner Brothers has already shown interest in the MK franchise, so it looks like there may be a feature on the horizon. No word yet on what the WB thought of Tanchoroen’s work or if a Mortal Kombat film is confirmed. We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops. Be sure to stay with us right here for more movie news. For Clevver Movies, I’m Amanda Janner. We’ll see you next time.
http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! Is an MTV Movie Awards spoof getting a shot at the big screen? Stay with us for the story. Hi everyone. Welcome to Clevver Movies. I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. Les is definitely more, as Paramount Pictures and MTV Films recently announced they are set to develop a feature film around mega-producer Les Grossman. Coming off the heels of a successful stint on the MTV Movie Awards, the Grossman character is on his way to getting his own movie…and possibly, his own franchise. The character was first introduced in 2008 in the movie “Tropic Thunder.” Tom Cruise will reprise his role as the over-the-top and out-of-line, self-proclaimed mega- producer. Cruise, along with Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld of Red Hour Films will produce, while Michael Becall, who wrote “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” is set to write the script. We’ll keep you posted on casting details and the release date for the untitled Les Grossman project. Stay with us on Clevver Movies for all the latest movie news. I’m Amanda Janner, thanks for watching.
