Hi guys, Tatiana Carrier here with ClevverMovies and I’ve got some exciting news on one of Hollywood’s most exciting new action stars. While Michael Fassbender is quickly becoming one of the most popular actors of the past few years after kick-butt roles in “Inglourious Basterds,” “X-Men: First Class,” and “300,” he says RoboCop is not a role he always wanted to play. However, he tells Collider.com “I’m always open. I’ll take a look at the script and sit down with the director and have a conversation. If I react to the script, then I’m up for anything.” The iconic 1987 role of the terminally wounded cop who returns as a powerful cyborg seems like a perfect fit for the hunky German, and Fassbender says that wearing the metal Robo-suit “could be kind of fun. It could be kind of fun to have a helmet that I could hide behind for most of the film, too.” The remake will be directed by Jose Padilha and is scheduled for release in 2013.
