Hey guys, thanks for tuning in to Clevver Movies, I’m Tatiana Carrier While the release of Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ isn’t for another six months, lucky fans in 13 cities around the world got to see a special sneak preview of the film. Fans who went to the film’s website TheUntoldStoryBegins.com were given tickets to the events, which happened Feb. 6. Fans in New York were joined by Andrew Garfield, Marc Webb in Los Angeles, Rhys Ifans in London, and Emma Stone in Rio De Janeiro, who all came together via satellite to answer fan questions and reveal a new 2 1/2 minute trailer for the film. Fans also gathered in Mexico City, Berlin, Rome, Paris, Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney and Seoul to see the preview, but as yet the details of what they saw have yet to be revealed. . Not to worry if you missed out, though, because the new trailer will be released online at midnight tonight and in theaters this coming weekend,. We’re hoping that the new trailer will give us a better look at Ifan’s villain, The Lizard, as well as some insight as to what ‘untold story’ the new film will feature. Now while this all sounds a little unfair to the rest of us, the word of mouth that this generates will probably be pretty huge. Christopher Nolan has employed similar methods in advertising his Batman franchise, which have become some of the biggest films of the decade, and from what we’ve seen so far, we’re expecting this new reboot of Spidey to be pretty huge as well. . Hey everyone thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, im your host Tatiana carrier and ive got your review round up The Woman In Black which releases this week! The flick is about a young lawyer (played by Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorner woman is terrorizing the locals. . SO before you head out to the theatres to see it yourselves, lets see what the critics have to say! . Leslie Felperin from Variety was a fan of the flick she said…Fittingly for the first film shot in England in 35 years to bear the Hammer banner, The Woman in Black competently resurrects that hoariest of horror-movie conceits, the haunted house. . Tim Evans from Sky Movies also liked the flick, “It’s an effective chiller in the grand tradition of British horror with a couple of icy-bucket-of-water-down-your-neck moments.” . One person who wasn’t too fond of the film was Matt Patches from Hollywood.com…he said, “A horror flick stuck in the limbo between cinematic life and death by boredom.” . Over all the flick did pretty well with the critics but the question is, will you guys be seeing the The Woman in Black when it hits the big screen? Hey guys im tatiana carrier for clevver movies coming to you from our Hollywood headquarters after a very long and relaxing MLK weekend! The big question here is, what movies did you check out over the holiday! Heres the box office re cap so you can see where all your fellow movie buffs bucks went! . Coming in at number one was new release, Contraband. The To protect his brother-in-law from a drug lord, a former smuggler (played by Mark Walhberg) heads to Panama to score millions of dollars in counterfeit bills. Universals thriller brought in 28.8 million throughout the weekend. . Coming in 2nd was a favorite of mine, the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast this time in 3D! Belle and beast brought in 23.5 million throughout the weekend and definitely drew in the family crowd for the weekend. . Tom Cruise holds on strong, a MONTH now to be exact in the top five in 3rd place with Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal. This weekend the action thriller brought in 14.2 million for a grand total of 189,4 million so far! I don’t know about you guys, but this seems like a mission success in the box office world! . IN 4th place was the other opener, Joyful Noise which brought in 13.8 million throughout the weekend. Joyful noise is about G.G. Sparrow who faces off with her choir’s newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill, over the group’s direction as they head into a national competition. . And finally, last but Certainly NOT least, our two boys sherlock and watson are still at it with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows with $10.5 million, for a total cume of $172.1 million at the box office so far! . The Hunger Games SEQUEL nails down a writer! Hey guys thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host, Tatiana Carrier coming to you from our Hollywood headquarters with the low down on the hunger games! . The original isn’t even out until May but studio execs are already thinking about that sequel! According to The Wrap, the sequel has locked in Simon Beaufoy ( who you may know from “Slumdog Millionaire,” and “127 Hours”) to pen the script for Catching Fire, the sequel to the hunger games. . Gary Ross, who directed “Hunger Games,” will also direct the sequel and is supervising the writing of the script. . AS you guys already know, The films are based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling young-adult novels about a nationally televised fight in which teens compete to the death. The Hunger games will release March 23rd and stars Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson and Liam Hemsworth who are all expected to return for “Catching Fire,” which will hit theaters Nov. 22, 2013. . And one more little nugget of info for all our hunger games fans out there, The Hunger Games advance tickets going on sale February 22 so don’t forget to mark those calenders!!! . Hey everyone thanks for checking back with us on clevver movies, I’m your host tatiana carrier with clevver movies with the results from the box office! . Coming in first place was the ONLY new realease of the week, The Devil Inside! The possession flick brought in 34.5 million throughout the weekend. The story follows a daughter who tries through excortsims both religious and scientific to get rid of the multiple demons that have taken over her mothers body.. . In second place is the movie that just keeps holding strong in our top 5, Mission impossible ghost protocol which made 20.5 million this weekend for a cume of 170.2 million. I think its safe to say that tom bruise is BACK! . 3. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows brought in $14.1 million, for a total cume of $157.4 million. Dr Watson and Sherlock holmes are at it once again, coming in 3rd place on our countdown! . In 4th place is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which brought $11.4 million, for a total cume of $76.8 million. But some argue the original was better…what do you guys think? . And finally the family flick of the bunch. Alvin and the chipmunkcs chipwreked comes in 5th with 9.5 million for a total cume of 111.6 million this weekend! . Hey guys, thanks for checking back with clevver movies, Im your host Tatiana carrier with the rundown on the 23rd annual Producers Guild Awards… . Now as you guys know the nominees for the guild awards are usually a tell tale sign of who will or wont be in the Oscar race…surprisingly, one of our favorite wizards DIDN’T make the cut. . The awards will be presented jan 24th . The seven films that have long been presumed to be best picture Oscar frontrunners — The Artist, The Help, War Horse, The Descendants, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, and Hugo — all registered with PGA voters as we suspected they would. . With its remaining three slots, the PGA opted to reward three studio movies, all of which have been quite commercially successful: Universal’s Bridesmaids ($169 million domestically), Sony’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ($60 million domestically after just two weeks in theaters), and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Sony’s The Ides of March ($40 million domestically). . Two flicks that surprisingly didn’t make the cut, were The Tree of Life and Drive which were indie faves…we think this isn’t a total lose for these flicks as they weren’t commercially huge, but great in the indie department…still totally Oscar worthy and Oscar potential…however, harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 should be worried because it was a commericial success, so most likely, this is the end of the road for potter. . Thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, Im your host, Tatiana Carrier with the weekend wrap up from New years weekend! So lets see who kicked off 2012 with a bang! . Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal proved this year to be a hit and didnt plan on leaving the countdown into 2012. The flick earned 40 million throughout the 4 day weekend for a total cume of 141 million dollars. So to all of us who worried that cruise couldnt keep up without the dark knight prologue, the proof is in the numbers…the non imax showings did even better than expected! were you one of the millions of movie goers who watched Mi4?! . Coming in 2nd place for the weekend was Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows with 4-Day Weekend total of $27M and a total Cume of $137Million bucks. Looks like watson and dr holmes have what it takes to keep us thrill seekers paying those big bucks to see them in action on the silver screen! . Alvin, simon and theodore hold on in the top 5 at 3rd place with 23 million throughout the 4 day weekend wiht a total cume of 99.3 million bucks. while the chipmuck adventure didnt do too well with the critics, there werent too many other family flick alternatives for the long weekend which we think helped the numbers for the munks. . In 4th place was The girl with the dragon tattoo brought in 20 million for the 4 day weekend, with a total cume of 60.8 million! . And finally, The disney/dreamworks flick War horse comes in 5th place with 17.6 for the long weekend with a total cume of 42.8 million so far. We are thinking through word of mouth recommendations, this film will stay on the top five for atleast another week. .
