I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. Despite the fact that Will Ferrel just came off a very successful stint in The Other Guys, his latest film project has been axed. With a $26 million budget, Anchorman grossed 90 million at the box office…not a bad return on investment at all. But they made almost 95 percent of that in the United States. And what that means is there will be no Anchorman sequel. Since the U.S. economy hasn’t been doing well of late, investing in a movie that only did well domestically is a risk. With the current situation, studios are now putting more emphasis on global box office returns. And here’s where Anchorman fans are called to action. Will Ferrell is urging fans to write letters to Paramount to bring the comedy back for a follow-up. He says he and director Adam McKay want to make the film and adds “maybe the fans should write in to the studio and get something changed, because it’s not looking good.” So would you like to see Anchorman 2?
