The Amazing Spider-Man is NOT a Remake

I’m your host Tatiana Carrier coming to your from our Hollywood headquarters! Well, if you weren’t already excited about the new Amazing Spider-Man, the Comic-Con Annual Magazine released some inserts from an interview with director Marc Webb, who dropped some details on some of the choices that were made when bringing his version of Spider-Man to the big screen. Webb was quick to point out that this reboot is not a simple remake of the Sam Raimi trilogy, and that may explain why the love interest and villains were changed. Webb also hints at what the December poster tagline “The Untold Story” really meant, but only by saying that not only does it feature new catalysts, but also that this will be an entirely different Peter Parker/Spider-Man. . When asked about whether or not this reboot of Spider-Man will be true to the original comic book character’s wise-cracking fun, Webb responded with “There’s a punk rock quality to Peter Parker that’s really irreverent and fun and that’s something that Andrew [Garfield] embodies in a way that we haven’t seen before. Certainly the materials that have come out have a darker sentiment or there’s a darker projection, but we’re very keen on staying loyal to the humor of Spider-Man.” . Webb also discussed the fact that he conceptualized the film as a 3-D film, since so much of Spider-Man’s actions really lend themselves to the 3-D format. “I thought if there’s ever a movie that should be in 3D, it’s Spider-Man for crying out loud. We shot this all in stereo so it was native 3D. Nothing has been converted. But those point-of-view sequences, those came very directly from a philosophy about putting the audience in Spider-Man’s shoes. We wanted them to feel what he feels, and that’s where those sequences came from.” . Well, while Webb didn’t drop as many hints to the storyline as we would’ve liked to see, these are still some great insights as to what to expect from the new Spider-Man franchise. You can read the whole article by clicking the link below, and be sure to let us know what you guys think! Will the changes to the plot make it distinct enough from the Raimi trilogy, or are you more excited for the different approach to seeing Spider-Man’s abilities? Robocop Going to Star Russell Crowe?

Thumbnail

http://bit.ly/clevvermovies – Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies – Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! Russell Crowe’s name is been being tossed all over the place these days for different roles. And now, he may have a future as the Robocop. . Nothing is set in stone yet, but MGM is looking to get the reboot for Robocop infront of the camera this summer. And with that, they’ve set their eyes on Russell Crowe. Now anyone that has seen Crowe in action in the last few years, knows that this guy can kick some ass. But is he the best fit for this character? . Michael Fassbender and Chris Pine have both had their names passed around for this role, but none of them have the same impact that an Oscar winner like Crowe brings to the table. But if they do go with him, he’s not as young as the other guys in the running. This could change the tone and feel of the reboot. But with Jose Padilha set to direct and Gran Tarino’s writer Nick Schenk recently tapped to rewrite the script, it should be in good hands. . And even if Crowe doesn’t take this direction, he won’t stay free for long. Especially with Darren Aronofsky looking at him or Liam Neeson to play “Noah” in that classic story. That’s a hard decision for Crowe to make. Do I take on an Iconic name like “Noah” or do you have some fun and take out the bad guys as a cyborg cop, I’m sorry, THE cyborg cop, Robocop. Sounds like an easy decision to me. But what do you guys think? Which role would you want to see Russell Crowe take on next? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to subscribe! Bryan Singer ‘Six Million Dollar Man’ To Big Screen

Thumbnail

http://bit.ly/clevvermovies – Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies – Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! Hey there movie buffs, Tatiana Carrier with clevver movies with the latest on Bryan Singer’s latest project…The Six Billion Dollar Man. . Bryan Singer — who is also developing a feature film based on another classic series, “Battlestar Galactica” — is apparently going to direct “The Six Billion Dollar Man”, a feature-film rework of the ol’ Lee Majors series “The Six Million Dollar Man”. The project will be based on the show, of course but also — on a book called “Cyborg”, which also inspired the series. . And just like every major director in Hollywood, Singer wants one person to play the lead, and that is none other than leonardo dicaprio. However…getting leo isn’t as easy as just “wanting him for your film.” The “J.Edgar” star won’t attach himself to the project without having read the script, which is fair enough, but it does suggest how hungry Singer and the Weinstein’s are for the box-office stud. . So who knows if leo will or wont be in the flick, I mean the guy receives more film offers in one day than the amount of daily tweets I send to birdman asking him if I can join young money….soooo I guess we will just have to wait and see. . So what do you think of the six million dollar man hitting the big screen? Im thinking the only way this one will do well at the box office is with a big name like leo attached, but what about you? Let us know by commenting below and while you at is sub to clevver movies to stay on top of all the latest movie knews! Thanks for hanging out, see ya next time!

Long Delayed ‘Red Dawn’ Remake To Get 2012 Release

Thumbnail

http://bit.ly/clevvermovies – Click to Subscribe! http://Facebook.com/ClevverMovies – Become a Fan! http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! Red Dawn finally gets a release date! Hey there movie buffs, Im Tatiana carrier and Ive got the details on the official American release date for red dawn! A remake of the invasion movie “Red Dawn” — with its villains now digitally modified from Chinese to North Korean — will finally hit American shores next year. This new version of the Reagan-era classic will be released in the U.S. by independent studio FilmDistrict. The original “Red Dawn,” is about a group of teenagers in a Washington town who battle invading Soviet forces, but in the remake, the invaders were changed to Chinese….which ulitmatly conpmpliucated things for the film. After MGM emerged from bankruptcy in late 2009 and decided it wouldn’t release the movie, no other studio wanted to touch “Red Dawn” for fear of offending the government of China, a hugely important market in the increasingly global film business….As a result, the movie’s producers last winter used digital technology and creative editing to change most of the invaders to North Koreans. But even after that change it Still took most of the year to find a distributor willing to take the movie on. FilmDistrict Chief Executive Peter Schlessel declined to discuss “Red Dawn.” Given that final details are still being worked out, however, it likely won’t hit theaters until 2012. The new “Red Dawn” stars Chris Hemsworth, who played the title character in “Thor,” and was directed by Dan Bradley, second unit director on the last two “Bourne” movies and the upcoming “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.” Red Dawn should hit the theatres sometime in 2012 and as soon as we get details we will keep you posted! Will you guys be checking out the flick when it hits the big screen? Let us know by commenting below and keep it locked right here on clevver movies for all the latest movie news!
