‘The Woman In Black’ Review Round-Up

Hey everyone thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, im your host Tatiana carrier and ive got your review round up The Woman In Black which releases this week! The flick is about a young lawyer (played by Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorner woman is terrorizing the locals. . SO before you head out to the theatres to see it yourselves, lets see what the critics have to say! . Leslie Felperin from Variety was a fan of the flick she said…Fittingly for the first film shot in England in 35 years to bear the Hammer banner, The Woman in Black competently resurrects that hoariest of horror-movie conceits, the haunted house. . Tim Evans from Sky Movies also liked the flick, “It’s an effective chiller in the grand tradition of British horror with a couple of icy-bucket-of-water-down-your-neck moments.” . One person who wasn’t too fond of the film was Matt Patches from Hollywood.com…he said, “A horror flick stuck in the limbo between cinematic life and death by boredom.” . Over all the flick did pretty well with the critics but the question is, will you guys be seeing the The Woman in Black when it hits the big screen? Hey guys, thanks for checking back with celvver movies, Im your host Tatiana Carrier with your review round up on Redtails…so before you spend those hard earned bucks at the box office, lets see what the critics are saying! . RedTails starring Cuba Gooding Jr, follows the story of A crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, who having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. The George Lucas produced film is expected to pull in 8-10 million throughout the weekend. . Mark Jennings from the Washington Post, was let down by the film, he said, ” The African American fliers’ great achievement merits a great movie. “Red Tails” isn’t it.” . Glenn Kenney from MSN Movies agreed, he said, “More often than not, Red Tails feels like it’s pandering to every focus group that it never even tested… It’s so cautious as to be lifeless, which is a shame on a lot of levels.” . And to confirm the sad truth that Lucas did not knock this one out of the park, top critic roger ebert said, “Substitute 1940s fighters for spaceships, move them closer to Earth, and you have the audience appeal of this movie.” . Well the critcs weren’t too pleased, but I will say, it looks like an interesting film regardless, and I will be checking it out…after all, it may be lucas’ last big blockbuster right ? but I have to know, will you guys be checking out red tails this weekend? The exorcism style flick centers around a daughter trying to save her mother who is possessed by not one but multiple demons! The flick releases this week, so before you head out to the theatres to see it yourselves, let’s see what the critics are saying! . Bill Gribon from Film Critic.com wasn’t a fan- he said, “too illogical and lame to do anything but make you mad” . Stacy Wilson from horror.com said, “I liked it well enough, up until the sucker-punch ending.” . Peter Howell from Toronto star said, “Here it is just the first week of January, and already we have a strong candidate for the worst movie of 2012.” . The film received a 5% on rotten tomatoes, and despite such bad reviews, I still think the devil inside will draw in a crowd looking for a good scare! ‘Star Trek 2′ Plot Clues Hidden In Comics

Reading is the key to knowledge folks, and the Star Trek comics are proving it! . Hey guys and gals, Joshua Ovenshire here filling in for Tatiana Carrier with Clevver Movies. Back in 2009 J.J. Abrams gave us a reboot to the Star Trek universe taking it to a new and brilliant direction Since then we’ve been waiting patiently for that sequel. Now very little has been revealed about the movie so far, heck, we don’t even have a set cast list in play. BUT it looks like if you’ve been following the new Star Trek comics, you may already have a headstart on what’s going on. . Mike Johnson, the writer for the comic series, has revealed that he’s been, very subtly, dropping hints on what we can expect from the sequel set to release in May of 2013. Mike said in an interview recently . we are able to use the ongoing series to very subtly lay in clues to the next movie,” . In fact, he even teases us saying that there may be some hints of a sub plot in the first issue. So as fan flip back to issue number one, the newly released fourth issue includes some “thematic foreshadowing”. And it doesn’t stop there. They will continue dropping clues as we get closer to the release of the sequel. When the movie does finally release you’ll be able to look back at the comics and say, Ohhhh, I see what they did there. . So what are you waiting for? Go down and support you local comic book store and pick up the back issues and put those detective skills to use! ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Ultimate Edition

If you haven’t bought Transformers Dark of the Moon yet…..DON’T! No, seriously. . Welcome back movies buffs, Joshua Ovenshire here filling in for Tatiana Carrier with Clevver Movies. And it looks like Transformers Dark of the Moon is getting a collectors edition this January Yep, those of you who are willing to wait just a bit longer for Michael Bay’s third installment in the Transformer’s series can get a four disc ULTIMATE edition on January 31rst 2012. . If you’re like me and you actually take the time to go and watch all of the special features on a dvd, this is going to be a must have for the collection. I’m talking about, you get a 2 hour long behind the scenes feature of the movie. It’s a full documentary on what went in to the making this movie. But wait, there’s more. You’re also going to get a huge selection of featurettes to check out. One of which shows you how they TRANSFORMED Chicago into an epic battle zone. See what I did there? . Not done yet though, this collector’s edition will also include a Blu Ray 3D version of the movie. Even Michael Bay went on to say that if you’ve been waiting for the right time to get a 3D tv, now’s that time. . And if you REALLY want to show you’re a fan, and loyal to Michael Bay, you will also be able to pick up a 7 disc even MORE ultimate edition with the entire trilogy of Transformer movies. We’re talking Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen, AND Dark of the moon. All with over 10 hours of bonus features AND a plaque of movie images SIGNED by Michael Bay. . Now in all seriousness, this actually will be a great buy, no matter which edition you get. Personally, can’t wait to update my blu ray collection with it. Just have to wait Till January. The Girl with the dragon tattoo is the first film in Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon… . Anne hornaday from the Washington post said, “Mara’s bristling, unbridled performance gives the film the ballast it needs to pull off that curious, undeniably engrossing, balancing act.” . James bErdanellii from reel views said, “This is what a movie adaptation should be: a film whose base narrative has its roots in the source material but whose soul can be identified through the images that unfold on screen.” . And finally, Julian roman from movie web said, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is that rare hard-R rated studio film that expertly weaves story and character development into the lascivious subject matter.” . The flick releases TODAY so lets see what critics are saying about one of our favs, charlize theron in her latest raunchy comedy! . Michael osullivan from the washington post loved the flick he said, “There’s enough grit in the film’s gears to keep the forward motion from ever getting too smooth.” . Steve rhea from the phillipdeplhia inquirer LOVEd the performance by theron, he said, ” Theron is thrillingly nasty as Mavis.” . And finally, Peter Howel from Toronto star did like theron in the flick, but felt the film wasn’t big enough …he said, “As good as Charlize Theron and co star Patton Oswalt are, and they’re very good, Young Adult doesn’t give them enough room to breathe.” . So overall the critics think its worth the watch, but what about you? So before you check out the munks in theatres, lets see what the critics are saying! IN Alvin in the chipmunks, chipwrecked, The vacationing Chipmunks and Chipettes are turning a luxury cruise liner into their personal playground, until they become ‘chipwrecked’ on a remote island. As the ‘Munks and Chipettes try various schemes to find their way home, they accidentally discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems John Anderson from Variety saud, “Largely inoffensive but equally unimaginative.” . Michael Rachestaffen from the Hollywood reporter said, “Well, at least it isn’t in 3D.” . And finally as if they couldn’t get worse, Jake Coyle from associated press said, ” Puns like these would be unforgivable coming from a human. From high-pitched rodents, they prompt calls for an exterminator.” . YIKES! ‘Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’ Review Round-Up

Hey guys thanks for tuning back into clevver movies, im your host Tatiana carrier with your review round up on Mission Impossible ghost protocol which releases this week! So before you check tom cruise out in theatres this weekend, lets see what the critics are saying! . David Germain from Associated Press loved the flick, he said, “Whatever the movie’s shortcomings, director Bird more than compensates with a bullet train of action and an arsenal of cool gadgets. Maybe making cartoons has expanded his conception of what’s possible in a live film.” Justin Chang from Variety also a fan! He said, “It’s a movie of dazzling individual parts that don’t come together to fully satisfying effect in the final stretch. And finally to seal the deal, Todd Mccarthy from the Hollywood reporter said, “Wall-to-wall action in a spectacular, if repetitive, fourth series entry.” . I think its safe to say mission impossible ghost protocol is a GO! The flick scored a 93% on rotten tomatoes and the critics agree, it was a mission SUCCESSFUL!
