I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. The Angelina spy-thriller Salt has everyone talking sequel. But execs say ‘not so fast.’ Salt may have earned nearly a hundred million dollars domestically, but apparently, the only thing stopping a sequel from being announced this second is the overseas performance. The studio is waiting to see how the film does in foreign markets before anyone commits to anything. Some were concerned about the idea of a female-driven spy thriller, so everyone’s on the edge of their seats to see how the rest of the world takes it. Especially since, despite the big numbers it’s put up so far, it’s still technically a bomb–Salt hasn’t made its shooting budget back yet. The thriller cost $110 million to make, and the sequel will likely cost more. So would you like to see Angelina Jolie continue the adventure as Evelyn Salt? http://Twitter.com/ClevverMovies – Follow Us! It was another great weekend at the box office! See who walked away with top billing! Welcome back to Clevver Movies. I’m Chelsea Cannell with your box office RECAP! This weekend marked another amazing battle at the box office! And while there were two equally anticipated superstar action thrillers taking center stage, only one walked away victorious! Unsurprisingly, “Inception” closed out its second weekend in the Number 1 spot, taking home $43.5 Million dollars for a 10 day total of $143.7 Mil! Another HUGE weekend for the Dicaprio Driven Dream Team. In second place and not far behind, Angelina Jolie reminded us why she’s the first female of action flicks, as Evelyn Salt in Sony’s Spy caper. In “Salt” Jolie stars as a CIA operative who goes rogue after she’s accused of being a Russian agent! With a first weekend total of $36.5 million, it was a solid number 2. And in 3rd, Steve Carell’s family friendly flick “Despicable Me” took home $24.1 Million dollars for a domestic total of 161.7 overall. All in all is was a great weekend at the box office despite being devoid of sequels, remakes, or comic book adaptations. So what did you see this weekend?
