Hi there, movie buffs, thanks for coming back to clevver movies, I’m Tatiana Carrier and I’ve got the latest on ‘Evil Dead’. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are remaking the horror flick, with ‘Panic Attack’ director Alvarez at the helm. Weve just learned that ‘Juno’ writer Diablo Cody is currently revising the script, and we can’t wait to see how the cult classic will be reborn. Campell starred in the 1981 original, and Raimi directed the cult classic horror flick, which launched his directing career. Raimi wrote the original screenplay and produced the film with Campbell and Tapert…. So it only makes sense that the producing trio is joining forces once again. The trio released a statement, saying “We can’t wait to scare a new generation of moviegoers using filmmaking techniques that were not available to us thirty years ago.” If you aren’t familiar with the original, it follows a group of five college kids as they vacation in a cabin in the woods and unleash evil spirits. Campbell played a student named Ashley J. Williams, aka Ash. He ended up being the only one to survive, and as the series continued, Ash became a chainsaw-wielding killer of the dead. It hasn’t been confirmed if Ash will return for the latest Dead movie or even if Campbell will reprise the role, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2013.
