Wondering how they are going to connect The Hobbit with The Lord of the Rings movies? Well Smaug may have the answer. Hey movie buffs, Tatiana Carrier here with Clevver Movies, and I can’t help but assume that Peter Jackson is a huge fan of the BBC show, Sherlock. Because he’s caster both main characters in his upcoming Hobbit movies. Yep, Watson played by Martin Freeman is playing Bilbo and Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock, will be doing the voice of Smaug the dragon and The Necromancer, a character added to the movie to spice up the story a bit. In fact Cumberbatch did an interview with Empire Magazine recently and may have slipped some information that could possibly help us see how they are going to tie in The Hobbit movies with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He was talking about his character The Necromancer” which has a large role in what he called the “Five Legions War”. I’m assuming that this is what readers will know as The Battle of the Five Armies” Now the die hard Tolkien fans will know that the Necromancer is Sauron and that Gandolf has a battle with him and his army WAY before the Battle of the five Armies. But base off of what Cumberbatch mentions, it can almost be assumed that Sauron will show up in person to the climax of the Hobbit films. My guess would be he’s commanding the goblin and warg army. Which would explain not only the goblins showing up in the first place to the battler but also explain their loyalty in the Lord of the Rings movies. Now I know that this can all come off as a bit confusing, but Peter Jackson is an amazing storyteller and I’m sure this’ll all intertwine perfectly, even with his changes to the original story. DEVIL INSIDE THE NEW PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Could we expect a few sequels from the new release of The Devil Inside? Hey movie buffs, Tatiana Carrier here with Clevver Movies, and it looks like Paramount may have another successful low cost / high profit franchise on their hands. As you all may be aware, The Devil Inside released today, and this horror pic, which only cost $1 million to make, has already brought in double that just from the midnight release alone. It’s actually pretty rare to see a movie pay for itself in a midnight release. Now with the success of Paramount’s Paranormal Activity franchise, already set for a fourth installment later this year, they are use to taking a low cost horror flick and turning it around into a financial hit. Once The Devil Inside goes wide with 2300 theatres, it may make enough moneyto justify a sequel as a no brainer. But it’s you guys I want to hear from the most.
