Our pals at IGN Recently chatted with Andy Serkis about The Hobbit:AN Unexpected Journey, and he broke some news of a potential teaser trailer before the end of the year…and were assuming right around the best time of the movie year, the holidays! . Serkis, who is again doing the performance capture for Gollum and is a second unit director on the films, said quote, “There will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe.” . And PERHAPS the film it would be with is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, since Warner Bros. is releasing that film, although The Adventures of Tintin also opens in North America right before Christmas as well. . Another possible home for the teaser trailer is Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’s IMAX release on December 16th, much like how the film will include WB’s 6-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises. . The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on December 14, 2012, followed by The Hobbit: There and Back Again on December 13, 2013. . The last remaining employees -Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) – are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.
