So Ian McKellen heard that Martin Freeman was testing out his Bilbo outfit for some Hobbit Screen Tests recently and he decided he had to take a look. Thankfully he also took to his personal blog to fill us in on how Bilbo will look in 3D. According to the Actor, Freeman was QUOTE “transmuting into a character whose reality will soon be as authentic as his own.” According to McKellen the screen in the room showed the 2d image but then next to it above the director’s chair there was a large color screen that showed the character in 3D much like we’ll see him in the theaters. He added that Freeman was mostly oblivious to the camera and was turning every which way, with an improvised gait while testing his big hairy hobbit feet, pointy ears and Quote “Little Tum.” Cute!
