Angies long term project “Cleopatra” is finally making headway after Sony has been putting this project on the back-burner for some time now… but now it’s finally looking like it’s making some progress and some pretty big names are being thrown around. . Angelina said her first choice to direct this flick would be David Fincher, who also directed The Social Network. And his most recent project, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo recently wrapped up so it would be perfect timing. . On the writing side, Eric Roth has been mentioned, who was the genius behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. With all these huge names, we are thinking this flick definitely has the potential to be epic, especially if they secure a power team. . Also a fun fact—The last time the Queen of the Nile was on the big screen was in the 1963 epic starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra that was a critical and financial flop, but managed to garner 9 Academy Award nominations and won 4 golden statues. .
