I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. The Angelina spy-thriller Salt has everyone talking sequel. But execs say ‘not so fast.’ Salt may have earned nearly a hundred million dollars domestically, but apparently, the only thing stopping a sequel from being announced this second is the overseas performance. The studio is waiting to see how the film does in foreign markets before anyone commits to anything. Some were concerned about the idea of a female-driven spy thriller, so everyone’s on the edge of their seats to see how the rest of the world takes it. Especially since, despite the big numbers it’s put up so far, it’s still technically a bomb–Salt hasn’t made its shooting budget back yet. The thriller cost $110 million to make, and the sequel will likely cost more. So would you like to see Angelina Jolie continue the adventure as Evelyn Salt? I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. Despite the fact that Will Ferrel just came off a very successful stint in The Other Guys, his latest film project has been axed. With a $26 million budget, Anchorman grossed 90 million at the box office…not a bad return on investment at all. But they made almost 95 percent of that in the United States. And what that means is there will be no Anchorman sequel. Since the U.S. economy hasn’t been doing well of late, investing in a movie that only did well domestically is a risk. With the current situation, studios are now putting more emphasis on global box office returns. And here’s where Anchorman fans are called to action. Will Ferrell is urging fans to write letters to Paramount to bring the comedy back for a follow-up. He says he and director Adam McKay want to make the film and adds “maybe the fans should write in to the studio and get something changed, because it’s not looking good.” So would you like to see Anchorman 2? I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. Lindsay Lohan is playing another famous LL — Linda Lovelace. Although Lohan is battling with personal issues at the moment, producers for the film Inferno have made it clear the actress is still involved with the project. Recently released promo photos show Lohan as the infamous x-rated starlet Linda Lovelace. Some of the images are shown in black-and-white, with Lindsay posing in vintage lingerie. Other photos are shown in color…with one even showing men lining up for the star in a bedroom. The biopic will chronicle how Lovelace became involved in the industry, as well as her later involvement with the anti-pornography movement before her death in 2002. The film has neither a production start date nor a release date. I’m Amanda Janner with the latest news surrounding X-Men: First Class and Inception. A reported twelve pages of the X-Men script hit the cutting room floor after Matthew Vaughn saw a similar scene play out on the big screen in Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Vaughn had envisioned a dream-space fight scene with Professor X, involving spinning rooms…similar to the zero-gravity fight sequence with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Inception. Seems like an interesting concept, but it looks like Nolan beat him to the punch. With that, Vaughn had to make a decision, saying “It’s either leave it in and it looks as if you’re copying or change things.” With Inception’s growing popularity, it looks like Vaughn made the right call. Inception has been a force at the box office, leading now for three straight weeks since its debut. X-Men: First Class is set to open June 3, 2011. Will Stan Lee Play A Villain In Captain America?

I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. So apparently, Stan Lee, who’s been a staple in Marvel movies, is sick of playing nice when it comes to his comic book cameos. Instead, he’d like to show off his acting chops by playing a villain. The actor jokes that the only reason people go to the movie is to see his cameo, but all joking aside, Lee does have a strong fan base. And having him play a villain would have the blogosphere buzzing, thus giving the movie loads of free publicity. And in a market this tight, piles of free advertising can’t easily be brushed aside. Lee says he just wrapped filming his cameo for Thor, and that he’s looking forward to playing a different type of role in Captain America. The question is, of course, just what will he get? I’m Amanda Janner with the latest movie news. Fantasy director Guillermo del Toro has officially been tapped to develop Disney’s Haunted Mansion thrill ride into a 3-D movie. The announcement came during the 2010 Comic Con in San Diego. Del Toro says he will co-write and produce, and so long as his schedule permits, he’ll also direct The Haunted Mansion, though directing details are not firm at this time. Not to be confused with the 2003 film starring Eddie Murphy, this one has no connection to the previous Haunted Mansion movie and will not be a comedy. Del Toro’s version will be scary and fun – just like the ride. A promo poster for Haunted Mansion was recently unveiled, giving fans just a tease of the dark imagery to come. The film is a psychological thriller with supernatural undertones, but it’s unclear whether Lilly actually has supernatural abilities or if Nina is just having delusions. Sorkin has acquired the rights to Andrew Young’s book about Edwards titled “The Politician: An Insider’s Account of John Edwards’s Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down.” Sorkin is no stranger to political subject matter having created “The West Wing” and written the scripts for both “Charlie Wilson’s War” and “The American President. In a recent statement about his new project, Sorkin said, “This is a first-hand account of an extraordinary story filled with motivations, decisions and consequences that would have lit Shakespeare up! There’s much more to Andrew’s book than what has been reported and I’m grateful that he’s trusting me with it.” Reports are that Sorkin plans to make his feature directorial debut with the film, which he is also slated to write and produce! The project is in the early stages of development and has yet to be set up at a studio, but luckily for Sorkin the story pretty much wrote itself! It’s being called an action comedy involving time travel, as a set of government agents work to stop a terrorist of the future who’s out to change the past. There’s some concern over the titling on this one, as it’s extremely similar to the oft-delayed World War Z, which is about an international zombie apocalypse. But considering how often Z has been delayed or otherwise broken, alphabetical order just might be preserved. Warner Brothers recently bought the World War X script, but has not yet pushed for production. So which one will film first? And will either have a title change? Superman Reboot Update: Director, Star and Release Date Rumors

I’m Chelsea Cannell with the latest on the SUPERMAN Reboot Rumors! Superman has already been scheduled for release in 2012 and will mostly begin shooting sometime next year but up until now a director and a cast have yet to be chosen! Its been reported since the beginning of the year that Christopher Nolan would be taking on a bigger role for Warner Brothers as they begin to introduce other DC characters as part of the expansion of their franchise. With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that Jonathon Nolan, christopher’s brother, is now rumored to be the unofficial director of the next Superman flick. The job would mark Jon’s directorial Debut, something that may not sit well with fans of the franchise. But the rumors don’t stop there. It is also being reported that casting is already underway and that Chuck star Zachary Levy may have a shot at donning that famous red-cape. As of now, nothing has been substantiated but there will likely be more to follow at next weeks Comic Con. So what do you think about the Superman Reboot?
